December 2011

As my son Cade and I were pulling the Christmas decorations from the attic, the thought occurred, “Didn’t I just put this stuff back up here a month ago?” So I began to sort the boxes and pull out the items that had been stored for the past year. A flood of memories began to fill my mind as I began to get motivated back into the Christmas spirit. There is one particular decoration that I always look forward to putting up each year. It is a three tree LED lit singing Christmas tree ensemble. It plays my favorite Christmas tunes and echoes throughout my neighborhood. Of course our neighbors probably don’t share the same sentimental value, but it sets the mood for Christmas, for me, anyway. To my disappointment the ropes and strings that held the strands of the trees together had aged and deteriorated to the point of making the trees fall apart. Even with my best effort, I couldn’t repair the trees to the condition to use again. How could Christmas be Christmas without the singing Christmas trees?

Christ then reminded me, that as He came into this world, that very first Christmas day, it was for this cause, he began to repair and restore this world from the sin of corruption and deterioration from Satan’s grasps. Even though ultimately Christ completed his task of destroying sin, through the cross, man still tries to restore and repair his own life, his own way. But we know, in our own way, no matter how hard we try, our best effort ages and deteriorates and soon our lives fall apart. It is for this reason, God uses this ministry to repair and restore broken lives each year sharing the gospel through outreaches, camps, mission’s trips, school assemblies, etc.

Our family is blessed to have your friendship and support. Carli is 15; she knows God has called her to ministry and she has a true desire to see her friends follow Christ. Carli has little to no inhibition. Cade is 12; a great athlete and such a deep thinker. This year he has stood faithfully beside one of his best friends that fought stage 4 cancer. Cade has witnessed God’s healing power through this fight. Corbin is 10 and keeps us all laughing several times a day. He has a great sense of humor. He’s quite the athlete with zeal to win, no matter what sport he’s playing.

Thank you once again for your faithfulness in prayer and support. We count it an honor to have you as family and friends. May your Christmas and holiday season be blessed with God’s love and peace that is truly a precious gift that only he can bring. God bless you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
