December '06
We just recently relocated our home and ministry office. Of all the things I really don’t enjoy doing, is moving. All the packing and unpacking is inconvenient, interrupts my schedule and adds more to my plate that is always running over anyway. Add to that, now Christmas decorations, gatherings and etc.. It’s just a busy time. As I have been unpacking boxes, I am reminded of one who once made a great move. A person who really didn’t need any more things to do. He was already in the place we all strive to reach. His name is Jesus.
How inconvenient it was to be the son of God, living a plush life in heaven, then to come to earth as a humble baby only to be rejected and sent to be born in a barn. Then to live a sinless life in a sin wrecked world and to have that world reject the freedom, to have the access, to eventually go back with him to where he came from; Heaven.
When I think of why we really celebrate Christmas, my little inconveniences pale to the one who wants to help unpack my life. The one who says I have a great package, a great life for you. The one who says “Be Still”, listen and learn. In moments when I am inconvenienced the most, is when he is always at his best. We should all remember, the way he came to earth, is still the way he wants to enter our lives; understanding, caring, loving, and humble.
That’s why this ministry exists today. To reach a world that is crying for help to unpack the mess they have wrapped their lives in. Again, this year we have had the great opportunity to help unpack troubled young lives and replace with the wonderful gift of freedom, love, and the best gift; eternal life. Your prayers and support has helped us travel all over the America and Mexico to witness thousands of lives changed by the power of God. To see people lose the world’s baggage and gain God’s gift of life is the greatest reward and return for all you do to make this ministry possible. Thank you for this gift.
For us, this time of unpacking has been both challenging and yet fun. We have been unpacking things we forgot that we had, and many things that we wish we did not have. Carli has changed so much since we packed up her room that now most of her clothes either do not fit or she just thinks she needs new ones. Now in Cade’s case, he does need new ones. We knew he was growing but we didn’t know that when we unpacked all of his pants that he would have to pass almost every pair down to his brother, and he is not too happy about that. However, Corbin seems to have the best deal of all. He gets all of Cade’s hand me downs. Even though the boys are so close in size, Cade is just a tad taller and that makes all the difference. This time of year is always exciting for them, but this seems to be extra fun because of all the toys and things they forgot they had. It kind of reminds me of our walk with Christ, if we pack it away for several months, it becomes some what, “Out of Sight, out of mind”. So we hope you and your family have time to reflect on God’s gifts he has given you this year and unpack the memories of all the miracles he has done in your life.
Thank you so much for your prayers and faithful support. We really need your help during this time of year. Your giving is a gift that continues to keep this ministry going and fuels the many wonderful reports of God’s saving and delivering power to change our world. We pray you are blessed this season.
Merry Christmas! We lone you!
