August '06
Now that August is about to melt away in this heat, I thought I would catch you all up on what is going on with the ministry and us personally. We have had an extremely busy summer and we have seen God keep his hand on each of us in such unique ways. Jaroy has completed 9 weeks of camps including Camp Padre and 2 Mexico missions’ trips. Each week it seems, we could have written a book on the events that have taken place and how God has proven that he is always a step ahead of us.
At the beginning of spring Solid Rock Resources was approached about joining a partnership with Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, TX. After a lot of prayer and counsel the decision was made to create a partnership with the university. This partnership will enable Solid Rock Resources to have access to university students who will be available to travel and assist in various forms of ministry. This will give these students that are preparing for ministry some hands on training and a deeper insight into their calling. It also gives us the added help that we have been praying for.
Some of you might not be aware that Jaroy has a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine, and spent seven years as the Athletic Trainer at J.J. Pearce, High School in Richardson, TX. and Greenville High School, Greenville, TX., before we were youth pastors. The past two weeks Jaroy has been working with the University as they have had many athletes arriving on campus. He will be directing their sports medicine program and working to cover their sports injuries and rehabilitations. As you can see this partner ship is a “win win” for the university as well as Solid Rock Resources. Jaroy will keep his ministry schedule and as he travels he will occasionally be accompanied by the athletes as they promote the University across America.
This transition has already brought a lot of changes to our family. In order to work closely with the University we knew that meant relocating. God was so faithful, we listed our home in Frisco and we had an offer in 6 days. After a “wild world wind”, we are currently in temporary housing in Midlothian. The kids will begin school there this week. We met their teachers and both Carli and Cade are very excited about meeting new friends and starting this new adventure. Now, Corbin on the other hand is not so happy that he is on a waiting list to get into a preschool. Please pray that God will open that door so we get him going to school as well. In our house, as we say, “when Corbin’s not happy, nobody’s happy”. We know God has the perfect place and teacher for him, we will just see what he has in store.
Please continue to stand with us in much needed prayer and support as we work our way through the temporary transitions. Our address is still P.O. Box 3042 Coppell TX 75019 and should you need to reach us by phone please call our new number 972-775-3815 or Jaroy’s cell 972-897-6499 and Kim’s cell 972-897-6899.
Once again, thank you so much for your support during this transition. We will give you more updates in the weeks to come. Thanks you so much!
