November '05

I just got a safety recall on my vehicle. The Ford Company claims that the under hood speed control deactivation switch may over heat, smoke or burn which would result in an under hood fire. They claim it could happen if the vehicle is off and parked or when operated. The recall notice told me to set an appointment with the Ford Company to get it repaired, but the repair parts aren't in until sometime in November. As I review the notice I have mixed emotions. They say I can get it deactivated and return later for the repair or just play out my odds to really see if this fire thing really happens, which would be stupid, Ha.

As I travel this country, God in a way, is using us as a safety call or recall; to proclaim his glory and power to a broken generation. The difference is that he can repair what's broken and replace the damaged parts immediately with love, hope, peace and happiness.

This past month has been a very busy month of mending broken lives. I had the great opportunity to speak to the Southern New England District A/G Preacher's Kid retreat. This is a unique group of students that either enjoy or resent their lives as a P.K., living in the family of a pastor's home. I related my childhood and shared stories as positive experiences that God used in my life to develop who I am today. I saw God do great things in mending lives and recalling those P.K.'s to the wonderful adventure of totally knowing him and his will for their individual lives. We also completed another week of an Illustrated Drama Presentation for Cornerstone Church in Rowlett, TX. Many people surrendered their hearts to Christ as God called and spoke into their lives.

As we've been reflecting on this recall and as we are entering the season of Thanksgiving it reminds me of how thankful Kim and I are of God's protection on our family. This past week our youngest son Corbin was playing on a playground and as he was running across a swinging bridge he slipped through two of the boards and was caught when his large head would not fit through. Because the space was so small, the jacket he was wearing had slipped up around his neck and the pressure of his weight hanging below impaired his breathing. This very scary situation ended when Kim and some other Mom's were able to push him back up through the boards. Corbin is fine; his jacket saved his face from getting banged up as there were several kids that kept jumping on the bridge while he was stuck. The playground in now under "recall", for repair, and we thank God for this opportunity to celebrate his hand of protection on little Corbin's life.

So I guess I better answer the safety recall on my vehicle so I won't become a crispy critter. Ha. God's got a lot more ministry ahead and wants to see that his truth and his word continue to mend broken lives. I thank God for all of you who continue to pray and support this ministry, so we can continue his call to reach this generation. As we approach the end of the year, we have many special needs in this ministry. We need to update and replace items and equipment we use in the Illustrated Drama Presentations, Camps and Mission's Trips, crusades and etc. We also want you to pray and consider encouraging others to support this ministry. In the youth focus of our ministry we depend on outside sources to help us meet our budget and obligations. If you can increase your support and influence others to give or you or someone you know could give a donation from a business, we would certainly appreciate it. Remember all donations are tax deductible. We are very grateful of every penny that is given to this ministry and are good stewards of what God blesses us with. Please allow God to use you to bless this ministry as he continues to bless you. Together, we can win the world to Jesus.
Have a great Tanksgiving.

Yours For Youth,
