December 2004

As I write this letter I am sitting in my office on a late December evening with my office window raised enjoying the mild, cool weather. Just one of the perks of great Texas living. The alternative will catch up with us come July. Ha!

I've traveled all across America this year experiencing many different climates; snow, torrential rains, extreme heat, etc. I have seen many salvations, rededications, healings, and lives changed. It is all because of the beginning of a life that changed our world forever. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, this season, I rejoice in the celebration of thousands of lives changed this year because of your faithful prayers and financial support. Your expression of Christ's love to a hurting generation of young lives and families keep the light of Christ illuminating to this world. What an awesome gift!!

This Christmas as we open the gifts and expressions of love from our families, I know I can count on my annual gift of the flashlight from my Dad. As long as I can remember, each year, my Dad has given me a flashlight so I may light the path I can not see in dark places.

This past year you may have had some paths of dark moments of hurt, sadness, stress, discouragement and fear. When Christ was born even the Sheppard's were terrified as they were watching their sheep one dark night. The word describes that an angel illuminated the glory of the Lord that shone all around them. They were told by the angel, “Do not be afraid. Good news of great joy would be for all people, because of the birth of Jesus Christ.” The word of God says that a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rest.” Luke 2:14

Be assured that God's favor and light rest on you in every dark situation of your life and God will give you a peace that passes all understanding.

For a bit of family news, we are ready for Christmas. This year our tree was up very early and the kids have been busy making their wish list. Carli has gone from dolls to fashion and technology. Both Cade and Corbin are just ALL BOY; anything fast, loud and tough is their style. Each of them has been busy taking care of “Ms. Potts” and “Junky Trunk”. Ms. Potts was the rabbit we found at the park and we brought her home with hopes to find her owners. Soon we had 8 babies to raise and one of them has become Cade's side kick, “Junky Trunk”. We were able to find homes for all the bunnies except one that we call “Frenchy”. Frenchy is all grey with one little white paw. Maybe Santa will take this one when he comes to deliver his goods on Christmas Eve. Ha! Jaroy has been very festive this year. He was the first Dad in the neighborhood to get the outside lights up with the reindeer and candy canes and all. Jaroy started a new tradition a few years ago with the kids during the holiday season. They select a Christmas tune and sing to the top of their lungs, preferably in public. This usually keeps me several steps away unless I just get a wild hair. I must say this silly game has brought many laughs and great fun memories.

May God bless you and your family this Christmas season and through out the New Year. Let's continue to team together through your faithful prayers and financial support as we shine the glory of God's love and light to a dark world, giving the gift of love, hope and salvation to the world, all year long. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
