May 2010

Standing in the middle of the Arizona desert, somewhere between Phoenix and Prescott, I was talking to a group of public school students grades K – 8. I was doing one of the interactive school assembly projects called the “Game Day Challenge”. I told them how beautiful I thought their campus was, surrounded by desert and mountains. The students looked at me as if I had lost my mind. What? I said, “it’s all about outlook and perception.”

The past two weeks I have been traveling on our annual “Game Day Challenge” tour. I brought SAGU athletes as they officiated games and we shared character topics on how to live a balanced life. We were in ten public Jr. Highs and High Schools around the North TX area and I just completed my last one yesterday, in Arizona. The District Youth Director and the Christian Education director, Tim Black hosted the event and has decided to take this concept into schools all over Arizona.

As I had the opportunity to show case this concept, I was reminded of all my life experiences in public education, youth pastoring, evangelist, athletic training, camp director and recreation director. All these experiences combined together to give me a ministry platform to reach students, teachers and administrators in a very unique way.

Life is truly about out look and how we perceive our life and the direction God is taking us. I love the quote, “The purpose of life is to have a life of purpose.” I just heard a great quote, “Things turn out better for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” I would never have thought that God could use all the different opportunities and ministry experiences to guide my life into his reason for me. Now I prepare to start my summer ministry tour, speaking camps, AIMexico, Camp Padre, etc. I am so thankful that through the series of making friends, meeting people and ministering to people, that God brought us together to partner in reaching a lost world for him.

As God directs your life map and your destiny, remember Rom.8:28, “All things work together for the good of those who love him and have been called according to his purpose.” Please continue to support and pray for us as we continue to do his will and purpose this summer and throughout the year. Have a great summer!!
